Are you kidding? I always think of just jumping in some 4th gens and heading for the sunset, it's just a primal urge for a beautiful beast.

If you don't talk smack to anyone, then you should take a keying as some sort of jealousy. But, keep in mind they probably think that your car is a 60 year old women's car.

i agree with the fact that you might end up spending more on the sec system than anything. i would just think twice about doing things to your car, especially when you have to keep an eye on your car every few minutes, IMO its not worth modding. maybe modding internally but it seems if you mod the outer appearance your asking for attention, whether or not its the kind your looking for. gl with what your going to do.

btw has your car been keyed? if not then why do anything to change that fact. if in fact what you say is true about those kids keying corolla's and escalades, what makes you think that they wont just key your car for the heck of it? report this to the police and see how you can help cut down the chances of this happening..

as effective, and poignant a point that the 9mm idea is. a Desert Eagle would make them shart all over the place...

But either way.... unfortunately.... it's still considered "Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon." If you actually TOUCH the person with it, it's "Aggravated Assault AND Battery, with a deadly weapon."

You are talking about a $2,000 system in order to get the cameras to shoot at the rate you want with an alarm with such sensitivity installed.

You should have posted this in the Audio/Electronics section..

You're a godd'amn fool if you honestly think those alarms have the sensitvity/reliability/flexibility of what you want to do.

You scraping the internet looking for a bargain and it simply WON'T WORK.

the real questions is, why would they get jealous if they are rich and he is driving a maxima and they are driving escalades and better looking rides

just dont talk smack and you should be fine and if you do talk smack be sure to atleast catch the people trying to key your car (*** in being at the right place in the right moment) and when you catch them you better be able to give them a royal *** beating.

You don't know rich kids very well, do you?

Being rich makes them MORE likely to get jealous about this stuff....

Calm down. Your idea would be very expensive, very buggy and very, very hard to pull off. It's an internet forum, people will always give you shit. But if you start threatening "never to post here ever again," you'll just get laughed at.

Man I'm lucky I live in the middle of nowhere. I don't have to work about anyone keying my car. The only time my car is left unattended for long periods of time is in school...but I usually get there early in the morning so I get to park next to security . Other than that...I don't spend enough time at anyone place to become a target.

dont let the wise cracking teenagers get to you.

if you can afford a nicer alarm, purchase it. but to try and prevent vandalism you'll need to get a bit creative and combine certain existing set ups in order to make something that works. Like an alarm when driggers, sets a camera(s) to record.

And make sure you add a second battery to your setup, specifically an Optima Yellow Top with a battery isolator, so that in the worst case scenario the alarm doesn't run down the battery you need to start your car.

Oh, also... If you ever do get this working, make sure you post about it IN DETAIL here, with lots of pictures. I guarantee you... If naysayers are frustrating you, nothing will make you feel better than making them eat their words.

Turk, in all seriousness, there ARE alarms available that are sensitive to the touch. You can get them installed for about $500 total. Ask this question in the audio forum.
