Car Shutting off while driving! Help!!!!!!!!

i have a 98 max which is shutting off while im driving. In the morning when im going to work everything seems to be fine but you can sense alittle lack of power.

Now after driving the car for awhile i start feeling the loss of power. its seems when the engine is warmer during the afternoon its shuts off while im waiting for a red light or idling in a parking spot.

i was having this problem for two weeks now..so i got a tune up. change everything. I even change the alternator and the temperature sensor(my fan wouldnt turn on). but still the same shhht.

ANY SUGGESTION WHAT IT COULD BE??????!!????

It seems that it has something to do with the temp of the engine, or maybe something is wrong with the idle when it gets hot? Our van does this sometimes, its newer though, an '01. Not sure why though, if you find out, let me know.

I've been having the same problems. My car doesn't stall, but it comes close. I know it sounds stupid, but first thing to check is your air filter if you haven't yet. Also check the air filter sensors. If that doesn't work... check to see that all your hoses are connected. Other than that, I'm not sure what else you could do.

I had a similar problem last summer. I would be driving and then the power would shut off completely in my car. I tried changing the alternator but that didn't fix it. So I took it into an electric shop.

The problem was simple: one of my battery cables was bad and needed to be replaced.

The mechanic said he turned the car on and jiggled all the wires in the car until he jiggled the battery cable and shut the car off.

I had this problem last year, turned out to be a bad mass airflow sensor. My mechanic said the old one looked fine, but looks can be deceiving. After swapping it out, the car runs perfectly. Got a used MAS on ebay for ~$60.

check cables and sensors, shut off is usually electrical related
