I have a 99se stick with 32000 miles. When filling up the tank(yes, Im sure its full), my fuel gauge doesnt indicate a full tank and settles above the 3/4 of a tank line. Its happened 3 times in a row now. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

I have a 98 SE, and I have the exact same problem. This is my 2nd time taking the car in for the same problem.....I believe they are going to replace the fuel pump or something by the gas tank if i am not mistaken

Your car is still covered by the 36/36 warranty. Let the dealer do this repair.

yea, the same exact thing has been happening to me (well, similar problem). I have 63k miles on my 96 Max and when I fill it all up, the gauge pointer goes all the way to the F. However, when I shut off my engine, and a few hours hour later, I find out that the gauge needle is between the 3/4 mark and the F. As soon as i start the engine, the needle points to the F again. Any idea what needs to be done? Do you think its because I haven't done my 60k tuneup just yet?

The fuel gauge will not be affected by the 60K maintenance procedure.

When the ignition is off, the fuel gauge reading is meaningless. The behavior you report is normal.
