it went on last night when i was driving on the highway at about 60 or 70 on the way to my friends house. havnt gotten a chance to get the diagnostic tool from autozone yet, just wondering if anyone knows any common problems....

CAR INFO:

99 max
128,459miles
auto
rebuilt tranny about 15,000 ago
replaced coils last year
Replaced EGR year 1/2 to 2 years ago
replaced fuel filter, sparkplugs 6 months
just did oil change 500ish miles ago
needs inner tie rod and shocks (but dont think those would set off CEL, right?)
a little over 1/4 tank gas left.

havnt really noticed an issue while driving (but i have only driven it with the light on for about 25 minutes), seems the same except now i have a bright light to catch my eye and worry me...this light usually isnt friendly when it comes to my car

ill try to get tool from the zone ASAP and get some codes on here but might not beable to get it til tomorow or monday.

 

get the code first if you were in jersey ive got a code tool but come back with the code b4 we can help.

 

no need diagnostic tool to get codes.. just a few turns of the ECU ****, count the number of times the CEL blinks, go to the 4th gen sticky for ECU codes, and voila!

 

Why not just have autozone run the code? Why go and spend money when they will do it for free? Or you can even do it for free? I wouldnt worry...its just an engine light. If your car is having trouble then Id start worrying.
