Courtesy B-pipe questions
#1
Well, my Y-pipe is shot, so I am buying a new SS one. I figured now the only non-SS part of the exhaust is the B-pipe, so I should replace that as well.
I would like to get the Couresy one. Does anyone know if I will have problems with fittment? I have the Stillen SS muffler, and that bolted right up to the stock B, so I don't think I will have any problems.
Will I have any backpressure problems with this exhaust setup?:
Cattman SS Y -> RT Cat (Eventually SS Test Pipe) -> Courtesy SS B -> Stillen SS Muffler.
Anyone out there with the same (or close) set up? Sound is not really not an issue for me.

I guess I'm really looking for feedback from someone with the same or similar setup. How's it work for them?

Love it. In that write up they show a separate piece attaching right behind the cat, but I thought that piece was only used for the 95/96 models. The car in the write up looks newer. **Confused** I did some welding because I didn't like the restriction that piece had. But, I like it.

Courtesy b-pipe went in fine for me. Only diff is I still have stock muffler. No only did it remove that darn crimp in the pipe but with the small resonator I got an extra 2" of bottom clearance.
It's a bit louder than the stock b-pipe too because of that smaller res.
Let us know how you're 1/4 improves - if you're aleady doin 14.7 you just might hit 14.5 with good launches!

If you find a Midas that will install the y-pipe for you then you'll be all set. Not all will install it though for 2 reasons:
1. Some won't install pipes that you bring
2. You're removing the pre-cats, which is illegal
If you install it yourself, make sure you buy new gaskets.

midas
Midas will do it but you have to get a y-pipe that has a cat on it. And be prepared to buy 02 sensors mine were rusted in and couldnt be taken out. Also make sure that you have the right model y-pipe. i have heard rumors that cattman has different models for different years. Oh and i got mine put on in va.
