electrical problem?

hey i got a 97 maxima. the starter went so i pulled it and tried 2 grease it. it didnt work. so my friend being the idiot he is started hitting it with a screw driver while i was cranking. hes not sure what he did but i think he connected the negative and positive terminals on the starter. anyway i got a new starter and plan 2 install it tomorrow, but when he did that he saw sparks and the clock inside my car shut off. i think i blew a fuse but im not sure. which fuse should i check and what else besides the clock does it control? thanks alot for all your help in advanced people.

You most likely blew the main fuse under the hood.
It's located near the battery.

yea the fuse under the hood most likely..jus pull the fuse and see if the lil metal thingy inside is separated...then its blown...check the audio fuse and jus replace it with a 15amp onei believe and yea the car will still start

You probobly blew the bigger fuse in the engine compartment in the fuse box. It's over 100 apms and it is screwed in also. And it is a dealer only part.
