Removing clutch slave cylinder

Anyone have a tip for getting the second bolt (the one closer to the engine) out? The little bit of the engine seems to block me from putting a socket on it. Everything seemed to be going smooth until I got to that.

My only other options are an adjustable wrench or a 14mm open wrench. With those though I can't move the bolt.

The first one I used a socket wrench and then a pipe over the wrench to get the leverage to move it. Then it still took a little bit of extra strength to get it loose.

I used the box end of a 14mm wrench. Not sure exactly how, but i do remember it was hard to do. What's even harder is putting it back on!

An open wrench and a lot of patience is all you need.

well i put everything back together this morning as i couldn't get the rear main seal from the nissan dealership so i have to wait for it to get here and then go through everything again.

i picked up a new wrench today though, hopefully if what i have in mind works it should be "easier" to get that bolt next time.

What kind of wrench?

You're going to tear everything down again to replace the main seal? You either have drastic need of your car, or a lot of free time.

no i need to replace the clutch. however, i am theorizing the clutch went because of the rear main seal as the tranny had oil on the bottom of it. i would rather just have the rear main seal so that i can change it if necessary.

You sure it was engine oil, and not gear oil? You'll know when you have it all apart, but it could also be your input shaft seal.

i am "pretty" sure it was engine oil. When I drained the gear oil it had a different color to it from what was on the bottom of the tranny.

yeah well at least now i saw where the fuel filter is too so when i get my RMS I will also pick up the fuel filter and with all that stuff out the fuel filter will be real easy to do. i am just trying to think of anything else i should change when everything is out that would be hard to do with everything in there.
