car update

so today on my car i seafoamed it and put in a new konck sensor. my knock sensor has been bad since i got the car about 3 months ago and WOW does it have alot more pull now. also the seafoam seems like it made it idle smoother and quieter. im really happy now that my car has no more codes and it runs great!

also for those that want to know about putting in premium gas listen to this (i know there are a million gas threads, im just sharing my own experience).

i first used 87 when i got my car (didnt know better) but now switched to 93 octane 100% fuel (no ethanol) and 3 of the 4 ecu codes went away (all but knock sensor). so now i use 93 since. but...my girlfriend gave me a gift card to PDQ so i filled up there with 93 but i think the ethanol in it is bad for the engine cuz it tripped a code. however when i went back to shell gas it went away.

also i ordered a lip spoiler off of ebay last week and im starting to wonder what the deal is but here it is: spoiler
hopefully ill get that on soon, everyone should email the seller and tell him to respond to me

heres a couple pics from today:

I'd be very interested to see the lip spoiler once you install it.

I really doubt 10% ethanol in gas is gonna give you codes, but if you're convinced that's all that matters.

Hey, if you're free on Friday afternoon, a bunch of us Maxima guys are going to be taking a nice cruise in the hills west of town...let me know, it would be fun to have you along.

Sounds good. I think that lip spoiler should look good. How'd the knock go? Hard to replace? Looks like some blood on that last pic?

ya i cut my knuckle kinda deep putting in the knock sensor, it wasnt hard to get my hand in there but it seems like everything is razor sharp. like putting ur hand in the garbage disposal.

seafoam cleans the build up outta the engine, that is whats making all the smoke. kinda like a carb cleaner type thing but you suck it up through the vacuum line instead of putting it in the gas tank (although you can do that too).

Dont ask...so many evil threads about this. People argue so much about this. I think on the 1st or 2nd page in the forum is a thread on the seafoam. Check it out, it'll explain some things.

Yeah I've been told its like razor blades in there. I think im waiting till I do my 00vi swap to change my sensor. Yeah that might be another couple months but O'well. Need to save for the 00vi parts and I dont have time to swap the sensor now anyways.

It's hard as hell find non-ethanol gas down where I live.

In some parts of the country you can buy 94 octane, so 94 octane FTW!

Some places in the U.S only get 91 octane no higher. Here in Nebraska we get 92 octane as the highest.
