There are certain bits that are made to drill metal.......you'll still need to put a little force I'm sure but they are made to catch are drill the metal better. I'm sure if you spent that long on one bolt you were using a regular bit.

I was using the HHS bit. I still have a headache from drilling that sucker; Only got half way. I decided to use the dremel and cut the flange all the way to the middle part of the bolt. Then I used the drill to finally rip the bolt out. That was the only way I got the bolt out. If I kepted on drilling...I'd shook my tooth loose. The bit gets dull fast...it's titanium.

I'm glad it's done. I'll never do that again.

i forgot to ask this question. How hard will it be to pass smog (normal circumstance)? Well, when I disconnected the cat, I found crumbled up honeycombs inside the cat. The first section are all bits and pieces...the later sections are in perfect condition. Same question for my case (plus no more pre-cat).

If I decided to replace the cat...I'd like a suggestion.

if you go to this site http://www.warpspeedperformance.com/nissan.htm
They have a carb approve highflow cat that's bolt on for our cars.. I'm getting the combo kit that they have on ebay.. y-pipe and highflow cat plus all gaskets, bolts and hanger for $285 shipped.. I think they just bumped it up to $300 now but when I ordered it last week it was $285.. They even have the dyno sheets on there site showing the gains..

Not having the pre-cats will only make you fail inspection if the car isn't fully warmed up... once it's warm the main Cat should be enough to get you to pass.. unless your in california

Here in NC if you do not have all the origional Cats you fail the visual tamper inspection. But being an inspector I can get around this

Anywhoo. I finally got it done. I have 3 clips One inside just revving One inside run to 55mph and one outside by the muffler. Im uploading them to YouTube now so Ill post links when they are fully up.

Ill also take some pictures on the lift at work tomorrow.
