It was me and one other person, naking it two, and he's the guy that I always go and make top speed runs with. We take both of our cars, he's got a 96 Z-28 M6 and we occasionaly go hit its limiter at 155 mph. Though we always do it in the middle of no where with ABSOLUTLY NO other traffic around. If there's anyone at all around then we shut down immediatly.

an indicated 140+mph.... speedo markings only go up to 140. but there's speedo error, and the 225/50r16 tires also introduce more error... probably actual speed was around 135mph or so...

That's true, I have 225/60/16s right now and at the time I made the run so it may have been closer to 138 after speedo erroe. I could be wrong about that though (the error and tire difference that is).

I haven't driven faster than 105 for like 6 months now, just too risky and scary, but once with 4 people in my car we got it to where about 144 would be if the speedo went that high.

I got 144.3mph indicated on my portable GPS...and you can't get much more accurate than that. The speedo was about where 145 or 146 would be. This was on I-95 in Florida at 5am

Maxed out @ 115. Handle like it was on rails. Just plain beautiful, and just me myself and I. Plus it wouldn't go over that, kinda ****ed, but oh well.

Took it to the indicated 140

Just to see if it could, and it did...seemed to have a little more in it, too. Did anyone else experience the window/door seals start leaking and buzzing at around 125???

117 but then my mom realized we're going kinda fast, looked at the speedo and started yelling at me so I had to slow down. It was in Vermont on a wide, empty highway.

Is there anyone here who has a parent who wouldn't yell at you if you were going this fast with them in the car????
I remember my parents used to freak if I did anything over 5mph of the limit...made for really long drives.

My parents don't. They use to, but they know I know the consequences. Plus my father used to drag race when he was younger. He had a 69 Barracuda. Named Bodacious Barracuda. It was a dog, from what I heard.

Jeez, I can imagine in another 10 years, this is what I get to look forward to from my daughter: "Daddy, would you mind NOT going along on this drive with me..."

Or I'd get the: "...but YOU do it..." whine.

That Bodacious, was in the low 10s. When I get some money I'm going to buy one for him and fix it up just the way he had it. It was famous throughout the Chicagoland area.

129mph, then I started to get into some light fog, so I had to shut it down. 90 sure seems slow after that!

When you think of Bodacious think of this

When I purchased it, it was a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda with an Aluminum 340
cubic inch V8. When I finished with it, it was a broken 1969 Plymouth
Barracuda with a fiber glass front end and a 440 cubic inch V8, punched out to
454 cubic inches, pushing all most 600 hp.

Info straight from the father.

I held 132 mph (+/-2 mph) for 2 minutes racing a Cheroke on PA Turnpike. I didn't even realize I was going that fast.
Sunroof was open, 15's hittin'. Those were the days.

I was just driving along and he blew by me. Me being the dumba** that I am, I pulled up next to him and just paced him. Sunroof open, 15's hittin' smokeing a cig. When I looked down and saw how fast i was going, i slowed right away. That car is smooth that i didn't even realize.

Speedo said 141 (or about where it would be). A slight downhill helped me to get there, but it was flat when I backed off at 141. Looking back, H-Rated stock tires could have blown at that speed, I got Z-Rated now but I won't do it again.

For some reason, 105 doesn't scare me at all, 115 with traffic does. I'm sure that over 120 I don't want traffic on the highway.

Hell, you can do like 96 in third! With the handling mods, 110 isn't scary at all. My car feels nice and grounded.. I'm sure that will get even better once I add the Eibachs.
