Bad O2 sensor after exhaust install???
Bad O2 sensor after exhaust install???
Alright so I just put my cattman y pipe and catback on and reset the ecu. Drove about 40 miles and next thing I see is a big orange glowing light. I check codes and I got 0210 which is lean fuel inj sys left bank. Now my question is how does an o2 sensor go bad after a new y pipe. Has anyone had this problem? I am pretty sure I dont have an exhaust leak but I havent checked it yet. Everything was fine until I replaced my exhaust. So it is either exhaust leak or O2 sensor. I figured the lower sensor by the cat would go first since the piping is larger and more air flow coming through. But the y pipe one?
I had that problem when I first put on my Y-pipe like 3 1/2 year ago. This was my first Y-pipe and I had a shop install it. I reset the ECU about 10 times and couldnt get the dam* code to go away, so I just got a New sensor and it dissapeared.
I linked the code to a possible bad install. If the O2 sensor is banged against anything during the install, the sensor can break loose on the inside resulting in a dead sensor and a code.

Well I felt around my y pipe today and I cant say for sure but I could feel a little bit of air. So maybe there a minor exhaust leak.
Does anyone know the torque specs for the y pipe to manifold nuts? I torqued them to 55 ft lbs but I couldnt find a real torque spec for them.
