how to remove center vent cover

I have a rattlign noise coming from this area in the dash so I think i might take this out and stick a magnet down there to see if I can catch anything. Anybody else know another way to check somethign that is coming from that area, it is a vibration noise coming from the center vent area under engine load or downshifting while rpms are up. If I put it in neutral even with revs it doesn't do it. How do I get that vent out?

Well do get the vent out you need to use a flat head and gently pop it upwards. The clips will let fo on the bottom. Then gently, but with some force, pull the vent downwards and out towards you. DO NOT just go and pry at it from the edges! It will break things and it won't sit right when you try to put it back in.

you dont pry it up. that is the way to break it. it comes straight out towards you. if you can grip it you can just pull it straight out. if you cant grip it, gently pry each side straight towards you until you hear the click.
