I am trying to get the parts ordered for doing the rear main seal. When I mentioned it in my clutch thread a couple people mentioned that in addition to the seal retainer and seal there were a couple other seals that you have to change as well.

I would like to try and get them all ordered from one place but I don't know the parts or part numbers I need besides the seal retainer.

 

All you need is the retainer and the c shaped seal that goes on the bottom of the seal. I dont know the part numbers but I couldnt find that seal that goes on the bottom on the internet. $10 from the dealership.

 

on this parts site i am looking at i see the rear main seal retainer. it says it comes with the rear main seal.

the part i need is in addition to that right? i am worried my dealership won't stock it. they don't stock the rear main seal retainer which is why i have to order it.

 

Well the rear main seal is the oil seal that goes around the crank. There a seal that sits on the bottom of the retainer. That wont come with the retainer. It has to be ordered seperate. I am sure they would have it as it used on more then just the maxima.
