No. Isn't that an obvious answer to you? You're putting heated mirrors on the car that doesnt have them...not like you attach them and that's it. Wiring needs to be done. Not positive on how they wire up but it should just be wiring power to the heater in the mirror. Not too hard but not simple like you're thinking.

I think he wanted to know if the wiring was already there and if all you had to do was plug them in. and in my case the wires are not there. i think they are there on most I30's though but not max's

Yeah I guess you're right. Still, looking through the FSM I'm not sure if it's that easy. There should still be some tupe of wiring. I'm not sure if the heated mirrors wire just to power of the mirror, or the defrost wiring, or something else. It's not listed in the FSM. Have you seen pictures of the wiring by chance?

I'm not sure if these were offered on the 4th gener's, but in th 5th gener's, the heated mirrors only work if you have the automatic climate control. They are pre-wired into the rear defrost button, which also means they are already pre-wired thru the door leading up to the mirror for plug-n-play. All it is, is an extra wire which receives a signal from the AC unit to the heating element to the mirror.

if the option is available on the model, they usually have the plug ready to go in all cars. seeing as the main difference in maxima's of gen 4, is their options. It seems likely that you wouldn't have a problem with it.

97 FSM pages EL-324 & 325 show hookups on the wiring harness. Doubt that there was a different harness if you didn't have the heated mirrors. Don't know what the cost trasdeoff would be, but I suspect that one option might be to just change the mirrored glass itself, and not need to replace the entire housing

the harness is on your door. you have to get the heated mirrors and plug it in. just like power seats. take off yoru door panel and there is a grey plug near the top.
