Need Help ASAP! Electrical Malfunction

So I finally got around to replacing my alternator today. I put a new battery in it about 2 months ago. I was driving the car for about 3 hours when all the sudden i noticed my headlights had dimmed almost completely and I could barely see. Then all the sudden my radio shut off. Then my airbag light started flashing. I then pushed the gas pedal to pull over and it sounded like it was barely alive and struggled to move. I finally get into a parking spot and turn it off. Then, while the cars off, all my lights get brighter and my stereo goes off. Now, there is a black circular thing on the ground for the alternator and I noticed that one of the 4 sides was missing. I jumped my car around ten times, 3 or 4 then went back to the auto store to get the new ground, then 6 or 7 more times with the new ground on. It would run and then once the jumper cables were removed, everything would go dim and it would eventually die. I need my car this saturday badly. Can someone please help me with this problem?

Sounds like you got a bad alternator from the parts store. Take it out and take it back to them so you can get a replacement. Happpened to me once.

that happend to me, i turned the lights off - drove home and charged the battery, then drove it somewhere to do the repair and changed the alternator.

a month back this also happend and i just replaced the battery and worked for a short while.

not 100% sure if its only the alternator but i belive that it probably is - that or some kind of cableing issue... i have to still test the new alternator i put in yesterday.
