rant...

I knew that my clutch was going, went to get an oil change found out my car is leaking oil from the oil pan gasket, both my cv boots tore in the past week, serpentine belt is in critical condition, breaks are worn, water pump is in need of replacement, I'm leaking coolant through who knows which piping, radiator has some kind of gunk inside.

yaaayyy, it'll cost you more then you think...My car is at the garage for the past week because of an issue with the pass axle bracket(that keeps snapping) making the axle pop out of the tranny...

I'm afraid to estimate how much the repairs are, keep telling myself it's cheaper than getting a new car or leasing.

I don't understand this thread. You think a car should be able to go 9 years without replacing anything?

I feel your pain. I had my struts and joints replaced in July. I think it was somewhere near $800 fot these (I had some other work done which unded up costing me 3K). Of course I went to a Nissan dealership which they say raises the price...

These sort of threads sorta make me miss my old Integra

It needed a 90K after 12 years (not many miles), old timing belt was fine, serpentine belt was fine, water pump was fine, axles were replaced cuz they just started getting worn, brake pads were replaced but rotors were still at 85% spec tolerance.... Freaking Honda and reliability

You said it yourself, not that many miles. Also, driving habits has as much to do with longevity as anything else. Your post proves nothing...sorry

Sounds to me like you did not keep up with the car maintanance, thats what happens when the car is neglected for a long time, i craps all at once. Anyways, its not just the max, take any car and don't give an *** about it and after a while it'll take a crap on you.

Good luck fixin everything at once, gonna burn a hole in your wallet.

not every Maxima will live the same life of repairs. Some trannies will fall multiple times, some with only have to change a knock sensor over the course of 5 years.

Its all apart of car ownership, something will break/go wrong eventually. Key is dealing with it properly, and get the repairs done and best and economically efficient as possible.
