Rear Sway Bar Recommendations
I want to get a rear sway bar but I wanted to know if they are all about the same. I know there are a lot of forums on the strut bars but I haven't been able to find any on the rears. Do I just need to suck it up and get the Stillen for an arm and a leg, or are the ebay ones just as good?

any rsb will do. if you want it stiffer, mount the clamps further apart, least stiff setup is using the clamps rigt next to each other in the center of the beam. this makes any sway bar "adjustable" like the stillen one is. if you planning ondropping yourcar, alot of people say its better withour a rsb.

the car reacts differently at higher speeds with a rsb. from what i have experienced, the limit of the car before going out of control depends more on your tires. its just driving style preference whether or not u want a rsb. it feels grippier for longer but will give out at around the same time as a car with no rsb cause the car leans less. without a rsb, the car will more gradually tell you before you lose grip.
there is a freeway itnerchange in s cali, the 605 to the 91. its a basic 270 degree clover ramp. with or witout the rsb i can take it at ~50 before i lose grip. it feels better with the rsb cause of less lean. but when it does slip, it slips more abruptly.

I just installed the cattman (progress) rear sway bar. when you install your bar you might want to wear some goggles or eye protection. I got so much rust in my eyes. Also make sure you have a 10mm socket (damn metric/english system discreptancy) and the other neccessary sockets for the installation. I couldn't find my 1/2inch socket and it was a pain to tighten the clamps.

Sway bars increase cornering stiffness which is similar to upping the spring rate. If you go with a stiffer RSB the car will be more prone to oversteer a.k.a. "fishtailing", stiffer in the front increases understeer also known as push.

tighten front = more understeer = safer more predictable driving for the age group the max was originally marketed towards. typical of FF cars
tighen rear = more oversteer= causes "fishtailing" controlled fishtailing is pretty much what basic drift is. typical of FR cars
cars like the rx 7 and s2000 try to achieve a perfect balance of under and oversteer by 50/50 weight distribution.
maxima still understeers even with a rsb. it just understeers less, meaning u can throw out the back easier if you wanted to.
