Is there anyone who actually like KYB GR-2

I'm getting my set in for days but after reading a bunch of posts that says gr2 suck i'm kinda confused. Also some people like them . So my q. is how's the ride on these struts esp. on bumpy roads.

shopping cart is a good example, but i liked the ride, it holds quite well to the road..if you are going spring setup with the kyb id recommend CMS springs. They balance out the kyb's quite well.

GR2's are not meant for lowering springs.

Why people would use them with a drop and then complain about how terrible they are is beyond me. They are not bad overall.

I have them and I have 2 teeth left in my mouth. They handle pretty well, I have no complaints there, but the ride is stiff.

lowered +kyb gr-2 = back pain... (had this for a while when i lowered and didnt change shocks..

**i have access to a shop i can do my own work.. so i dont pay or changing it again... and again..

lowered + illumina = OEMish smooth .. with a nice touch of handlining...

I like them as a handling upgrade (& ride downgrade) for my stock springs. I only have them on the rear, but they definitely worsened the ride quality and improved handling. I'm not going lower, but if i were i would choose a different shock.

i put them on my gf's car with stock springs. not horrible but still too stiff for my taste. (thank god i did her car first). i think i am going with Tokico HP's on mine. i hear its a firm yet smoother ride so we will see.

I just got mine installed (all four). Although they started out stiff (which I kinda liked because is firmed up the ride nicely), they suddenly settled in I guess and became somewhat bouncy. They handle bumps and uneven roads better than what I had before. I also had a steering vibration (really bad one) before and after installing the KYB's the steering vibration improved dramatically, although I still get bad 80 mph or higher.

Overall they seem good but not great. I would have preferred the stiffer feel that everyone says they have experienced. I installed mine with stock springs.

sounds like a balance and alignment, or a new set of tires. don't buy sumitomos.

I have loved them on everything I have used them on (all stock springs). I wish I had put them on the Z instead of Tokicos. I had GR2's on about 4 other cars. Paul

They ride similar to AGX's set on 2F & 4R. (thats stiff)
They can be used on drops no more then 1.5". (same as AGX)

I've said this before, but I have had GR2's with H&R's for almost two years and am satisfied with them when the weather is warmer (think spring and summer). But when the weather get colder, they get harsh real quick. I am also using stock 16" wheels which absorb some of the road conditions better that larger wheels.

Overall, GR2's are bearable if you don't plan on getting wheels bigger than 16", but if you plan to go bigger, don't get them.

This is just my opinion and I haven't had other shocks/struts to compare them with.

Like everyone has said, so long as you stick with the original set-up, it's fine. I've had the GR2s going on three years, and they suit me just fine.

They're really not that bad, as much as people complain how stiff they are...they're still a load better than say the ride on a 350Z or somothing comparable...

You wanna modify your car so it's faster, gotta live with a bit more harshness. Want the marshmallow ride? Get shocks from Sears.

I picked up the gr-2s because they were cheap and kyb is a reputable company. I never thought they were as bad as people make them out to be. They are a bit stiffer than stock. I can't really say if they suck compared to other struts since i've only had these and the stock struts on my car. But they do their job.

I thought GR2's were the same as AGX set at the middle setting? Either way, after using illuminas, AGX's are by far my favourite strut.

I had these on CMS lowering springs and they were ALRIGHT. In Toronto... we got some shiddy azz roads and these things arn't forgiving... ESPECIALLY in the winter. You will feel every little bump in the road on cold days.

BUT... if you use these as a replacement for your stock suspension... these things are bad azz. I use them for the winter paired with stock SE springs and they ride like a dream.
