Congrats on finding your problem.

A properly soldered connection should never fail.

Is there tension on your wires or do you have them sitting exposed in the passenger footwell? Two things that you should never have.

Untill we had a really cold morning here in Jersey, when I started the car up in the morning it made a grinding sound as it was starting and it didn't stop for a good 2 or 3 seconds after the car had started. I just thought that the starter was going out. But then when I put the car in gear it just died. I tried this 2 or 3 times and it kept happening untill I let the car warm up. Now I still get that grinding sound every once in a while but I also have what feels like a misfire (once the engine is hot)when I'm driving in traffic or if I try to accelerate quickly. Once or twice as the car was sputtering I floored the gas and forced the car to accelerate which caused my "service engine soon" to start flashing but that's it. I pulled the codes from the car but all I got was a malfunctioning KS (P0325)code. Has anyone else gone through this? I really don't think KS is causing this much trouble, besides I unplugged it and the car performed exactly the same way.

Can anyone point in me in the right direction as to what is causing this?

PS - Thanks again for letting me jump on your thread
Kevlo

Glad to see that you got your problem solved. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to how to fix my car? I'm new to Nissan's and really have no clue where to even begin.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help, Manny

Basically this is what i would recommend.
1) The reason for your misfires is the Coil Packs. It's a 99 thing. The reason for this is because nissan switched manufatures for the coils in. I bought used coils from a 97 (alot cheaper then new which are around 6-800 bucks.)
2) Knock Sensor will retard your timing and will not allow your engine to run at it's full potential. I would get that changed. But i'll let you know it's damn hard to change it on the 99 because of alot of crap from our emissions... that pass around that area. Took me over 3 hours to change it on the 99 were as it take 15minutes on all other years.
3) I would do a full tune-up i.e. sparks, air and fuel filters, and change your PCV vavle.
4) You might want to check all your grounds on the car and you might want to think about adding a grounding kit. Personally i wouldn't buy the one on ebay for the fact it's ebay and the kit is universal. I made my own kit using 0 guage wires. There are many write-ups on this. You can do the BIG 3 or even more depending on what you want/like. The BIG 3 would be Engine, chasis, and alternator i believe, but adding to the headlights, and more engine and chassis grounds might help aswell as cleaning all of your current grounds and terminals.

Thanks for the advice, I guess I will have my work cut out for me next weekend. What about the coil packs that you can buy at an autoparts store, are those any good? I'm pretty sure they are aftermarket.
