Cattmans are from Place Racing, so they are the same thing. Mine is just a copy, but in reality is not any different.

Good choice on the black intake, I think they look best.

Well, the new ones he makes.. he aquired the patent from PR to make them when they went out of business. According to him and this was back in the spring I purchased the last real PRCAI from him. That means the last one he had that was made by them before the Cattman Perf. CAI (aka. CPCAI) took its place. But they really are the same, but if you have an original than it sort of has this luster, or at least to me it does.

I was gonna install mine tomorrow but now I wanna chexk on something. I was gonna install like Jsutter has done, leaving the resonator attached to the TB,but then the poster had it removed. So is leaving the resonator on FTW or what?

Is it even worth it to get a CAI.
I was talking to a few people and they steered me away from it saying that you will lose power. I was thinking about getting a VAFCII to tune it. Will it be worth it? and will there be gains?

N/A gains are marginal. Im getting this becuase it looks like Cattman is not going to be making them anymore. Otherwise I would have stuck with my stillen intake.

An actual CAI will not lose low end power. Any other intake will lose low end but gain mid/high. Getting the V-AFC II will give good gains but really isnt needed for the intake. If you want to do both at once then go for it. Better gains.

you loose a bit of the high-end flow due to the 90deg. bend. it is however marginal and thats with the USIM, w/ 00vi or MEVI it would be the best setup, while leaving the stock resonator in place.

don't worry, it doesn't look that way anymore haha. valve covers now black and the PRCAI is now black.

Yeah I held off on an intake. I'll make my CAI in the spring after my 00vi swap is done. Should def. have better effects.

So the 00Vi and CAI and a VAFC would be a decent combo?

hey Dubbya, have you already cut a hole into your fender? Kind of curious on how much a pain in the a5s it is to set up the PR CAI.

Red, black, blue and silver are the colors.. Perhaps not through Cattman, but that's what the originals were available in and the hole cutting isn't hard at all. 20x easier than KS replacement and 50x easier than OPS replacement. Basically not hard at all unless you don't wanna buy a holesaw or don't have access to a dremel with decent cutting attachments.

I think I want to get one also now, that is of course if there is one still left after dubbya snatches it up. Does warpspeed make a CAI similar to the PR? I thought i remember someone mentioning that. Also, was wondering what defines a hybrid intake?

Just got it in the mail today. I ordered the black one. Apparently this one is a real PR CAI. The box says PR and I got the PR Sticker.

hehe, nice comeup on the PR.

Hey, I just talked to Brian from cattman right now and he said he had a few left but only for 96-97. He said I could fit it on my 99 but I'd have to seal up a few holes where it connects up to the MAF, I actually kind of didn't understand what he was talking about but he said that the diameter is different for my 99. I now don't remember if it was bigger or smaller, was wondering if you didn't mind posting a picture of it before you installed it. Of course that is if you didn't already but either way, post a picture if you feel like it, I want to see what it looks like.

The 95/96 have a screw on intake temp sensor and the 97-99 have a push in probe sensor. You can get a 95/96 sensor and use it in a 97-99 and vice versa. Or you could plug the hole and leave the sensor plugged in but zip tied out of the way.
I installed them into the filter on my older setups.
95/96 sensor:

97-99 sensor:

I dont belive the size thing, there is no difference other than the vac can in the way of the 99's. My buddy had a PR CAI on his 99 and it looks identical to my ebay unit. He got the POS foam monster filter and its falling apart.

Cutting the hole is no big deal. I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder just fine. I made a big rectangle next to the battery just to make sure it was big enough. Then I covered the edges in rubber hose to be safe. A hole saw slighty bigger than 3" will work MINT, but they are expensive for a one time use.

A hybrid, technicly, is just mixing parts, but most refer to a Stillen or JWT pop charger with a mid pipe a hybrid, which is basically a short ram.

yeah I got the last one for the '98 there Dubbya.. I forgot to mention that, he still had a few 95-96 ones back when I ordered and apparently still does.

Also.. The monsterflow filter is AWESOME.. JSutter is very opinionated and has been racing around in an F/I'ed Sentra, so what the hell does he know..................Just kidding. I suppose if it wasn't in the fender and well taken care of, it could deteriorate rather quickly. Flow-wise though, the damn thing really is a monster. The design is really quite intriguing, with the velocity stack, stabilizing vanes and silicone tacking agent that prevents MAF clogging. Yet if I do another filter, it'll be that Apexi one that wisles really loud when WOT along with the roar.

Just got it installed yesterday. Between the VQ35 IM & the Pathfinder TB it was a REAL B!TCH of an install. For those of you that say stock is better Butt dyno tells me different. This thing really opened up and made a noticeable difference over the HAI that I had. Ill post up some pics after I do an engine bay wash.

I feel sorry for those who have loads of useless plastic under their hood in hopes that they have the better system.
