I've got the 0504 code, and I can't figure out what it is either. The only symptom I get is a tendency for the tranny to slip in and out of OD at freeway speed. It's been doing that for a while, and I'm not sure if the code started at the same time or not. I hope someone else can jump in here.

Try seafoam transtune and change the ATF. I'm about to do that soon. A couple of people tried that and reported good results

I used to get 4th gear code on my 2nd and 3rd transaxles, for me it was solenoids. Get the new pack at the dealer with the TSB part number for about 150.

I got something like that, and I replaced the TPS, it was all good after that.

I had a similar code but it was improper shifting from second gear. A couple of days later my 3rd gear died along with 4th. So I went to the dealer and told them off and they ended up rebuilding the whole tranny with new everything for 900 dollars. I didn't expect them to do that much I guess that was their way of saying don't come back.
