So I bought them...

...and by "them," I'm referring to the SS Autochrome headers and Y-Pipe.

They should be here towards the end of the week. I'll take pictures of what I get.

I know, I know, "you should have saved up for Hotshot, or Cattmans, or yadda yadda yadda..." I *should* have done a lot of things in the past... and even though it may not always be the most "logical" decision to make, I usually go with my gut, and it's dead-on the money 99% of the time.

I'm typically neither a pessimist nor optimist. I consider myself a realist. There really wasn't any substantial evidence that said that I *shouldn't* have bought them, nor was there any substantial evidence that said, "OMG, GO GET THEM NOW!!!!" Fact is, my stock y-pipe is literally disintegrating more and more every day, and it was time for an upgrade.

Sure, I could have gotten the Budget Y-pipe... but in the end, I'd want headers ANYWAY, so I might as well have gotten them for the extra $100. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Cattman and Hotshot headers are some of the best out there... but I'd be surprised to see if these don't work for me.

From posts in the past, headers arent much of an improvement over an aftermarket Y pipe on a NA 3.0, at least not enough to justify the cost over a y pipe.
If you wanted headers just for the point of saying you have headers so be it, but if you were looking for the best bang for the buck then you didnt get it.

The only read difference between these headers and hotshots/cattman is the fact that they are not equal length. They will not give the sound that the hotshots/cattman headers do.

and really, the flow (from what I've read) on the stock headers vs any of the aftermarket is no different.
Sound will change with and equal length header, but your not gonna get any more hp out of new headers like you would on a civic or something else.
let us know how the install goes... take some pictures I suspose you'll see the chrome on the front header and that might look nice.

the real constraint in the stock 4th gen exhaust is in the y-pipe. that will give you 90% or more of the gains that you can get from just changing the exhaust. by changing the headers or catback, you get minimal gains, if any, for your money. also, fitment is a pain with those headers. not much room to work with on the front or rear bank.

but i guess they'll look shiny?
