hm well i'd use creative rather than different.. yes different from all the maxima's on the planet and on this forum.. but creative to the point where i get a leg up everywhere i drive *IE merging highway traffic* if you dont think people take this car seriously on the road you're wrong, and there may be a very biased audience on this forum unfortunately, a maxima is a maxima

comes in use when you need traffic information

i respect everyones opinion and haha kinda thought no one would like it but if someone could back up their reason besides jumping on the "na, dont like it" boat and give me something else?

You are right...technically it's not illegal. However, depending on the cops in your area or the day they are having you will be blamed for something. Impersonating them might be tacked on. I'm just saying

dont worry about it, its just that this might very well be the first time someone has ever done this to a maxima, and most likely the last. but i will say that after seeing your pics it could easily pass for a cop car, so u reached your goal. but u still havent responded...why??

the idea was out of spontainity, the spotlight is legal to use on the road granting no cars are around you it proves a mean high beam, i dont use the car to impersonate its more just a "just because i can and get away with it" philosophy.. haha i'm curious to know what the ideal "accepted" nissan maxima looks like, stock? souped? not with a cop light? are people more shocked its a maxima or thats its a car that looks like a squad car and isn't a impala or police interceptor? i'm loving the animosity

Where I live, that light permanently mounted there IS illegal unles you are law enforcement. I would guess that the consensus opinion on the forum is that the Maxima isn't the type of car that fits the "outfitted like a law enforcement officer but I'm not really one" mold; we're used to seeing those tye of mods on domestic poilce vehicles like mustangs, camaros, caprices, or crown vics; never on a Maxima. If your aim was to be truly unique and "creative" then you have achieved ultimate success.

I seriously doubt any law dogs will harass you for impersonation because no sane person would confuse a Maxima for ever being a police vehicle in the United States.

i've been pulled over twice in my area since i did my work on the maxima and they just ask where i got it and the responce is a used car lot and thats that, window tint violation- the policeman got a kick out of it and actually laughed, rolling stop- "where'd you get your vehicle siiirrrr" "used car lot in indianapolis sirrr" and.. well thats that it is ILLegal to drive around an impala/caprice/etc. with law enforcement gear on it without a badge.. i do know that but other than that.. other cars like the maxima are in a huge gray area where they rarely enforce.

As long as it doesn't have "lambo" doors on it...play ball. I thought for sure I was going to click this link and see Lambo doors...what a relief!

I can pretty much guarantee that this is the only Maxima in North America like this...Time to install a Vortec SC and add a limited slip!

Where's the Uniden Beartracker though?

You have a sweet looking car but it has a hood scoop and fender vents.

The Maxima is basically a god around here so your creation is borderline Sacrilegious to most of this community...

1. I wouldnt take that seriously because maximas are never used as a police vehicle.
2. If a maxima is a maxima why would you try to make it into a cop car?

The idea isnt different since people do it on other cars. I think it's rediculous and you ruined your car. But that's my opinion. But don't post on here then get upset when people think it's rediculous.

i had a friend that installed strobes in his Dodge Avenger headlights, nothing else, just strobes. he got plenty of people to actually pull over, so you'd be surprised how many people wont take the chance of it not being a cop...

Cops use Avengers sometimes. I've seen some. I've even seen Intrepids. When have you ever seen a Max as a cop car? That's totally different.
