No glare and great beam pattern huh...

What kind of bulb shield are you using? Do you have a custom D2R housing?

No glare? Im sure the oncoming drivers are going to disagree with you on them not having any glare. I dont see hopw you would get no glare running HIDs in a reflective housing with no sheilds.

I think that HID's in a Stock Housing look absolutely rediculous, no offense.

Get Projectors and call it a day

Ok you got us, there 95-96 OEM replicas with the glass lens, they still use a reflective housing.
Im not saying they suck, im just stating that I dont see how they could be glare free.

lol cutoff.. there are no cutoffs!!!!! cutoffs are created by a plate in the projector! a cutoff is a straight line or somewhat straight and there is no freaking way you can gain a line without projectors.

your idea of cutoff isn't the same in HID world. yes they are better then stock but only to you. Cops and other drivers will hate them.

I remember a while back, maybe a week ago, somone did the same thing as Babymac, he used Hid's in the aftermarket black/chrome housing and the glare was minimal. There were pictures to prove it too. I found the link, the pictures are toward the bottom of the 1st page, they do look pretty good, not as good as projectors, but good!

Here's the link: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=497805

Babymac - It would be nice if you could post more pictures too, just to confirm. Your car look good...

ewuzh has what i think of as cutoff. honestly there is no way for you to get a cutoff unless you made a shield.

the reg. halogen 9007 dont have a cutoff. the picture in that link with the white scion, those beams look really nice but nothing in that is remotely close to a cutoff.

I'm not trying to fight u on this topic, i'm just stating what a cutoff is and what i've seen personally. They are no where close to a line. Maybe not a crazy glare but nothing close to str8. The only way to see if you take a shot like that in front of a wall.

And the guy's wall shot is not a straight cutoff. you see glare but its a lot better then the crap i've seen.

It looks pretty good and I have not been high beamed at all. I even go down the street and stare up at it and there is a nice LOW beam when you squat down. The beam is where it should be.

And no its not like those you showed , but I spent a fraction of the cost for a look that is a little worst. Like you said its not as bad as half the stuff out there and I'm very happy with them and get alot of compliments from older people not kids.

Ebay projectors are junk. The ones guys are retrofitting in are BMW, BENZ, S2000, TL projectors. I have E46 Projectors ready to go in as a Winter project You cant really get a better light pattern elseware. Why do you think they are going in all the high end cars. Even the new Maximas are getting projectors.

These lights won't reak havoc with your stock harness? A friend of mine put some aftermarket stuff in his max and had nothing but meltdowns. How are these different?

I don't know, but I have a aftermarket 9007 harness on mine for high output lights, so I think I should be fine.

LOL THAT'S ME!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 7000k kit and yeah there is virtually no glare with these lights. I've never gotten flashed or anything and cops don't mind them either. They really do light the road better with HID's than the OEM's did.

HIDS are the best for fog!! Nothing beats them in that category. 7000k had worse output of light then 6k so you really shouldn't be getting high beamed because the glare should be minimal.

Babymac, I know you have the 9007 upgrade...did you have trouble aiming either lights? It's been a while and I didnt care before, but now I notice that my drivers headlight cant be aimed well. Did you have that problem at all? I'm wondering if its the lights or if my aiming bolts are broken.

He's saying that projectors will look better when retrofitted into the new ebay 1-piece lights than in the OEM housings.

BTW, there isn't a aftermarket headlight with projectors being sold on ebay for the 4th gens.

Hids... arnt better for the fog.. unles syou have the 3000k bulbs...

you might think there better in projectors cause the cuttoff keeps the fog above the cuttoff from reflecting light.. but keep in mind that fog that is in the way of hte beam is reflecting light... which makes the sphincter in your eye make your pupil become smaller which in return actually causes you to see less distance... HID= Better more light+ further distance <-> more bright fog (which cause your pupils to close more.. and see less further

i think i confused my self...

also Halogens are standark 2000k something ... so which in return travel less distance, and are less brighter.. which in return will reflect of less fog... which alows you to see somewhat better.

but... HIDS ARE SO FREAKKIN COOOL.. i have hid fogs.. and headlights.. = )
its like smoking.. you know it will kill you but people still do it...

I dont get high beamed now but I still feel bad because I light up the entire car in front of me at night haha. I figured I should lower them a little but I can't get that one down.
