What shocks???

So guys, my 98 I30 with 98,000 miles is just about due for new shocks, im thinking ill stick with my stock springs, replace every other component (shocks, bushings, mounts, strut bearings, and so on and so on...) I want a European type ride, BMWish, not too rough over crappy roads, but still taut and fun in the corners, probally just stiffer than stock, good quality ones that will last me another 100k+ miles...

What you guys reccomend?

Thanks

I've heard that the blues are a tad stiffer than stock. Not sure if it is true, that's just what I've heard.

just got mine and installed them. they are (as are gr2's) but in a different way. they are firmer but also dampen a lot better. put a set on a max and the ride was firm but every bump was hard(er) and you get a little bounce. felt almost like one of those "ricer" cars you always see bouncing on the highway. too bad bilstein doesnt make struts for our cars.

yes. put a set of gr2's on the green max. had the bumpy hard ride. just put a set of tokico blues on the other max. still breaking them in and so far so good. people seem to love the adjustable struts but i dont do high performance so they do me no good. not to mention adjusting the rears on the tokicos must be a pain since unlike the AGX(KYB adjustables) the switch on the tokicos is on the top of the strut. if money isnt an issue i would check out a comparison between the adjustables and fixed rides. sorry i cant give an opinion on those as i have never used them. i will say this. the KYB's did soften up after a bit but still not to my liking.

NO.. go adjustables dude. If you want near stock, the yes go "blues," yet I could of swore you just said you wanted a more sporty feel IIRC.

Anyone who thinks GR-2s ride too hard on stock springs probably should not be answering a question on how to get a slightly tauter ride than stock. They are NOT that hard, and they are NOT bouncy. They just firm up the ride a tad. If you have stock springs and are looking for a tighter-feeling ride with slightly better handling, GR-2s are by far the best bang for the buck.

Tokico Illuminas or Koni Yellows would be WAY better, though.
