Is the flywheel resurfacable ?

I'm replacing a broken transmission on my 5-speed 1996 SE. In one shop the mechanic said that I would probably need the flywheel resurfaced in another one they say that on later Maximas the flywheel can not be resurfaced because the clearance would be too much. Is it resurfacable?

Yes. I resurfaced mine about four years ago when I changed the original clutch. However, you can't resurface it too much. Meaning whoever does the resurfacing, just let them know not to take too much off.

^ Exactly, you can only take a tiny amount of. Plus make sure you mention that you have a 2 piece flywheel.
