After 11 years she's finally dead... :-(
It was a normal wed. afternoon. i was leaving school after a day of classes when i came to a intersection that had a stop sign. Now the stop sign was for the people crossing the street (me). i was gonna go straight. I waited for it to be clear before i went. I started to go across and was in the middle of the intersection when this guy came and hit me.
Now i have to buy a new max.

Now i have to buy a new max.
*sigh* We Maxima owners are like accident magnets lately. Glad you are safe. Cars can be replaced ... lives can't. Just tell the insurance company the front end was in pristine condition
... get another Max and 3.5 swap it from the start
. Good luck.

The one above was alot worse than it looked. Alot of structural damage.

The white one was my 4th and most recent maxima and i'm curently looking for a 5 speed max.
Same front end damage happened to me last winter. the body shop said it was totaled, but i fixed it my self and saved 2,800 dollars. you might consider it. hardest part was the radiator support.
Haha little elbow grease and McGuire's power ball will do the trick. seriously though if you have the time and avg to high mechanical ability id say go for it, or just take the insurance check and get another 4th gen possibly five speed
love mine to death thats why i fixed her up to par again.

Sorry to hear about your max......our 1996 GXE Max was in two accidents recently. Back in July she got hit on the front passengers side fender. That was bad. First ,the insurance company wanted to total her out but the collision shop and Geico agreed to fix her for about $1380 (she has about 150K miles on her). Then a couple of weeks back she was parked and someone backed up and hit her on the drivers side fender. This wasn't as bad but the collision shops wanted about $700 to fix it (I did not report that one to the insurance comany so it would have been out of pocket). Found someone who does this on the side to do it for about $250. Did a excellent job. I even gave him a little extra to buff it and re-do my strips.
It tough..but you will make out all right......good luck with your new one. They are excellent cars!!
All the best!

Honestly you would be surprised at what the insurance companies will fix.
As an example my son lost my Sentra on a wet road and flipped it end over end. The roof was crunched in, the screen gone of course, the bonnet wrecked, both wings totaled, and both doors totaled. They repaired it . . . including new bonnet, cut off the roof weld in a new one, new doors, resprayed the whole car. And this for a 96 vehicle? Of course it looks brand new now and it still drives the same. So if you're covered by insurance I'd think twice before accepting a cheque - if it's still straight you might end up getting back a car that looks pretty damn new!

Ohh!! that sucks. Hope you have full coverage. My rear bumper is the target of eveyone and everthing. I had it painted for $300 something dollars and it looked great! One week later it was hit by some POT! (Chevy Colorado!) It just barly touched it. It was enough to put small dent in the bumper that luckily didn't break the paint. OH! I'm lucky and then three days later I get a huge scratch in a King Soopers parking lot. And of course in a Boulder parking garage someone hit the rear passenger side of the rear bumper. I think that bumper is coursed.
