Neutral safety switch?

Okay so I have been having the same starting problem for a while now and I think I may have finally figured out what it is. After replacing the starter and ignition switch and getting a starter diagnostic done (which was useless) I found that if the car doesnt start in park that it will start in neutral. So is it the Neutral safety switch? I think thats what its called.. Thanks

our cars are notorious for not actually being fully in park. if you get in the car and make sure the shifter is all of the way forward i am sure it willl start up everytime. how to get around this? no idea.

LOL, i've only had for only 4 months, but it's happened to me twice. I noticed that there's a little "click" sound as you let go of the brake in P, i guess you have to watch for that? It's really not a big deal, but it sure scared me the
1st time.
