instructions on taking off interior pillars?

i'm trying to pinpoint a rattle noise that sounds like a rock in tupperware coming from the rear of the car. rattles intermittently and doesnt rattle during highway driving. i know the plastic pillars can be taken off, but is there a certain way/order to do it so i dont crack it?

if you are talking about the panels where the seat belts come out of...it's not hard. When you pull on any panel, you have to oull hard, but smoothly not hard tugs. Slip your fingers(preferably both hands) behind the actual panel from the top and pull out. As you do this, keep going down along the sides of the panel and it should come off

An upholstery removal tool will help a lot here. Not expensive.
