Front left O2 SENSOR LOCATION

Can anyone help me locate "Front Left Heated O2 sensor?"

What could the worst happen if I don't replace it? The engine light comes on about 7 to 8 times, and I reset it every time.

Thanks.

the front o2 sensor is on the ypipe. there are two of them, one on each part, where the pipe splits into two sections, going up towards the manifolds. i think the left one would be the one on the pipe closest to the front of the car.

if you dont replace it you are getting crappy performance and crappy gas mileage. i think it might also make 3 cylinders be running either lean or rich, as i believe the front o2 sensor give the computer a reading to adjust air/fuel ratio

Yes, that would be the sensor near the front of the car. Should be easy to replace yourself.

I did all 3 of mine this past weekend. Pretty easy to do, all you need is the special O2 sensor socket and make sure to soak them in WD-40 for a while before you try to take them out.

You'll need:
- liquid wrench / wd40
- an o2 sensor socket
- small cutting snips
- anti-seize grease
- a few small zip ties

1. locate the o2 sensor(s)
2. spray on liquid wrench / wd40
3. go away for 10-15min
4. disconnect o2 sensor's plug (follow wire up from sensor)
5. snip all the zip ties holding the o2 wire in place
6. remove 02 sensor
7. apply a small amount of anti-seize grease to the threads on the new sensor
8. install new sensor
9. plug in the o2 connector
10. use new zip ties to secure the wire
11. done.
