Disconnecting starter motor trigger wire

Hi, I'm in the process of removing my starter motor as it quit working (just moans when I turn the key). I'm stuck on the connector that connects the starter trigger wire to the engine wiring harness. What do you push or pull on to get it apart?

Thanks!

Can't see a tab

Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't see a tab. I suspect the tab I need to push is directly under a plastic clamp that holds the battery cable. I removed the battery cable from the clamp, but I can't see the whole connector below because it's directly under the clamp. And I haven't figured out how to get the clamp off its bracket. Hmmmmm...

someone must have jacked up your connector or something cause it seriously is just a grey connector with one of the tabs on it you squeeze and pull apart. and it is pretty much out in open and not hard to get to. do you have a picture? The starter has 3 cables. one is just a jumper between the solenoid and the motor that doesn't need removing, one is the positive from the battery that is bolted to one of the copper studs on the solenoid, the other is the small ground wire that has a grey connector on the end. You don't have to remove any kind of bracket or anything to get to it normally. Just take off the air box and snorkle and it should all be there.

Got it!

I got it apart, but the tab to push down on was directly under the battery cable plastic holder and was hard to see. I had to slide the connector sideways to get access to it. Maybe it's different on different years.

Thanks for all your help, I didn't want to destroy the connector!
