I've done it before on my old Stanza. I swapped out white faced SE speedo, gas, temp, and tach from a '94 maxima. I also replaced the stock orange needles with the white ones from the Max. You just pull it straight off firmly but gently but you have to be very, very careful not to break anything or you're screwed. It can be done. You also have to be very careful when replacing it to put it in the correct position.

it is very simple. to take off the needle, you must first remove the pin that stops the needle from going all of the way down. as long as you are gentle there is nothing to worry about. i read your other post where you said you broke your odometer, are you replacing it or trying to fix it?

I did it 2x now. I took off the small peg, let the needle fall and note where it stops since its a calibration point, then spin the needle backwards while pulling up. To reinstall stick it on and let it fall back to the original spot, yo may need to spin it past the stops one way or the other. I had to drive the car with the cover off to get it perfect. Each gear at 2k rpms is a solid speed IE 40 in 4th is 2k rpms. Just make it read dead on before you button it back up.
