Maxima '98 Stock CD player *Bose*

I have a 98 maxima
and the stock CD player...
Bose.
Today I kept getting CD Err message on the screen
anyone know why or how i can fix this except banging on the damn thing?
please help!

it means laser head inside of ur bose unit is fried up and needs to be replaced.

buy same on ebay or buy aftermarkets.

This is one of the common problems with the Bose unit. I think you are better off replacing it with aftermarket but in case you are intereted in fixing your Bose or getting more info on your problem here are a few places:

can i juss replace the laser thing?
and u think mechnics will be able to fix it themselves?
ah... driving is no fun without cd player working...
this really bites...
i dont really want to buy the WHOLE streo...
u think the manufacturer will fix em?

IMO the money you spend fixing the Bose would be better spent investing in a new aftermarket one. But that's just my .02!

Un hook your battery for 1 to 2 mins and see if that works.
I had a similar problem and that did it for me.
