B&M Shifter

I installed my B&M sts today that my girlfriend gave me for christmas. Wow, what a difference, it seems like more than a 50% reduction. for anyone looking to buy a sts, this is the one to get.

hmmm. I'm glad to see someone else with this shifter installed. I'm getting mine sometime in the new year. It's been on back order for 3 weeks allready. the b&m publication said the reduction in throw was 40%.

I'm told that with the lario ureathane shifter bushing and some amsoil gear oil it's butter.

any pictures with the install?
thanks and glad to hear your went good. Was the install difficult?

I read a thread on that cosmo unit from fleabay. The person that had it was NOT able to run that short shifter and the shifter trim. The shifter kept on hitting the trim and popping it out of place. The price on that unit is right... the one review I read states the unit is not. Hopefully you have better luck than that guy.

is the shaft bent?? like could you flip it around so it doesn't hit the trim? or perhaps bend it... lol

I have the same b&m shifter awaiting install on my maxima, however I've been told by my mechanic that it involves going underneath the car to install part of it. Is there any truth to this, and or would a quick write up be possible?

Yes, you have to remove the heat shield for the catalytic converter to get to the bolts that hold the shifter in place. It's not that hard, it just takes time. Good Luck. p.s. B&M should have sent you installation instructions with some pictures and a step by step.
