Springs, struts, front strut towerbrace, and rear sway bar. Suspensions are the weakest link on our cars. Power is nothing if you can't take a curve.

I would add a front strut tower brace($30-140), rear sway bar($140-230), Place Racing cold air intake($220), Y-pipe($200-330), Random Technology cat($190), and if you opt for the cheaper brands of the mods above you will still have about $900 left over to buy lowering springs and shocks. For these two mods I suggest going with Sprint springs (2" drop all around) for about $240 and also going with Koni AGX's - $120 for EACH front shock and $90 for both rear ones. They are externaly adjustable(the prices for these are from www.tirerack.com). Even with these awesome springs and shocks you will still have about $300 left over for whatever you want(I suggest you use it to buy better quality/brands of the mods far above).

Second that, the Maxima has good power stock but the handling is sub-par. With these mods your car will handle like a performance car should. At the very least, get the rear sway bar and the FSTB. Together they can be under $200 and you will feel a very noticeable difference.

I personally went with the intake and exaust first, but these guys make a good point about the suspension so I will have to second Whitemax, 1/3 and weasel's recommendations.
