Shift ****

Anyone out there have their stock shift **** come untied? I like the stock **** and I would like to get a replacement. Anyone know where I can get one or if someone is parting out a 5spd? Thx.

A great replacement is a pool ball. I drilled and tapped it and I like it better than the stock shifter. Can slam gears better.

although the 2003 shift **** for a maxima is on a 6 speed platform, would it still fit on a 99 with a 5spd platform? i like the look of the 5.5 gen **** and was jw if it will fit on the 4th gen.

I took a piece of Al round stock, chucked it up in a lathe, and went to town. Cut some grooves in it, and badabing badaboom, a new billet shift ****. I was also screwing around and accidentally made one that kinda looks like a d*ldo. The ladies would love it.

I like the billet look, but i really would like something w/ leather also. The 02 and up are nice but they have are 6-speeds (it would **** me off when ppl are like OH THIS IS A 6 SPEED?!) but i really like the 20th ann. edition one. $60 is too much for me, but if anyone knows anyone or anywhere i can get one for cheaper, id appreciate it. Thx.

I really like the look of the Z **** (it is also used in the 2002+ maximas) but it has a 6 speed faceplate on it. The AE edition is very similar but has the 5-speed plate. I just don't want people to think i have a 6-speed, otherwise i would put in the Z ****. The site above sells the AE **** for $60, but i have heard that the lettering on the plate wears off very fast. Just a HU.

im in the same boat, except mines in ok condition just the lettering has been worn off. stiching is still fine, i really like the 20th anniversery ones but spending 60$ on a shift **** is rediculous for my financial position right now. If someone was selling a used one for cheap id definately pick it up.

It seems as though the **** is locked in pretty tight. Is it necessary to use pliars or vice grips to get enough torque to get it off?
