I just finished installing my Premier deh-p580 using metra 70-7550 wire harness and metra 40-ni10 antenna adapter.
The headunit works but there is no sound , and the power antenna doesn't extend.

I wired all metra wires to pioneer harness according to their color codes.

The unit plays cds , finds radio stations ( I see a stereo icon when it finds a station too) , the screen runs visualizations, it's just has no sound.

I don't know what could be wrong ... may be the harness is not good ?

^^ In that pic the antenna power wire isnt connected. Also check to see if your HU has a option of shutting off the internal amp. In your case youd need *** on.

ALSO: How come no one ever mounts the radio flush? It only takes a few extra minutes and looks empteen million times cleaner.

The only wire from Pioneer harness which is not connected is the blue one with clear plastic cap on it. It's labeled "system remote control"

My problem is : I have no sound (cd/radio) and antenna doesn't extend.
I thought the black antenna adapter is the one that operates the power antenna.
Do I have to connect the Blue remote wire somewhere ?

And what's a radio flush ?

There is a wire that sends power to the antenna motor, its blue or blue with a white stripe. I always mix them up in my head. You need to connect power to the motor for it to move. The large black one only carries the antenna signal. The amp turn on wire (sends power to an amp any time the HU is on) is usually labled REM or remote. In a pinch it can be used to raise the antenna if your HU doesnt have an antenna wire.

Flush as in not sticking out.

Really? I guess if the depth it too much.... Any how it will take a few new holes in the brackets. It never hurts to try and it just looks that much cleaner when done.

That and with alot of the flip down faces, there would be obstructions.

Ding Ding DING. Blue wire on Pioneer HU to blue pwr antenna wire on factory harness. That is not a cap on the pioneer harness, it is a sleeve that is open on the end. Because it carries 12+ power, it is sheathed.

Black wire is just carrying the actual radio signals. It does not control the power antenna.

You have a GLE, so you have the Bose, and w/o the blue wire hooled up your Bose amps are not turning on.

I fixed the problem today (partially )

I connected together the "power antenna" (blue) with "amp turn-on" (blue w/stripe)wires in metra's harness and attached them to the "system remote" (blue w/stripe) wire on pioneer's harness.
I also grounded the "amp ground" wire from metra's harness.

Now everything works perfect , But the antenna extends everytime the HU is on, even when the cd is playing.

Is there any way to fix it so the antenna would extend only when the radio is on ?

one way to solve the problem is to install an on/off switch in the antenna power wire (blue) of the harness adaptor and mount in the dash in easy to reach location. that way when you play cd's you can cut the power to the antenna so it stays down.
