Purge Valve
Purge Valve
I got a code and check engine light for the EVAP Purge valve.. I'm thinking it could be from blocking all my vacuum lines coming off of the intake, but maybe not. Common problem??
i believe the purge valve is the same as the vent control valve on the EVAP canistor? if so, i just had a code for it a month or two ago. replaced the valve and i was good. but it could be caused by clogged/cracked hoses also. i dont think the lines coming off the intake would cause the code though because the EVAP canistor/vent control valve is behind a splash guard located near the rear left tire. check the hoses coming off it for cracks or blockage, but make sure you dont pull any of the fuel lines off accidently. if not ide say replace the valve.
but i could be wrong about the two being the same thing...

You're right about the valve, I get these a lot on the cars work on so my first reaction was to simply replace the valve.. I mean the car has 122k so things just go bad sometimes. I also have a problem with the idle valve or w/e.. I DO believe that has to do with the vacuum hoses..
