Depends on how much you got to play with. I would start with a high flow intake and new exaust for pure hp gain. For looks, begin with clear corners, red/clear tails, and if you like a body kit. I don't personally care for the body kits offered on a max. Then get some new rims/tires which will lead you to new shocks/struts/springs and so on and so on you go until you have the max you have dreamed of.
Good luck.

Well, to me, since the Max has good ponies stock, and the stock suspension sux, I say, handling should come first. First I'd get the Front Strut Tower Brace(FSTB) a Rear Sway Bar(RSB), then springs and struts, then finally wheels. Once the car is planted firmly, then on to engine and exhuast mods. It's no fun when you've got plenty of power, but have to slow down to granny speeds to take a curve

GLE is nothing to be ashamed of (hell, no Maxima is). Things to do? Foglights, spoiler, intake, rims, a Stillen body kit, NOS, a FSTB, RSB and springs/struts.

my advice if figure out what you want the car to do and what do you want it to be?
do you want it a street setup?, cruisin/lux? or racing?

then focus on that area... and figure how much money you have to spend... just remember the $$$ you spend... its for the love... you wont get it back

g'luck and meet up with max owners in ur area... its a community and u can gain alot from the experience of others

This is from another thread where the guy wanted to spend $1,700

I would add a front strut tower brace($30-140), rear sway bar($140-230), Place Racing cold air intake($220), Y-pipe($200-330), Random Technology cat($190), and if you opt for the cheaper brands of the mods above you will still have about $900 left over to buy lowering springs and shocks. For these two mods I suggest going with Sprint springs (2" drop all around) for about $240 and also going with Koni AGX's - $120 for EACH front shock and $90 for both rear ones. They are externaly adjustable(the prices for these are from www.tirerack.com). Even with these awesome springs and shocks you will still have about $300 left over for whatever you want(I suggest you use it to buy better quality/brands of the mods far above).

Why rewire these? For higher watt bulbs?
