blah to unstable idle, when i had the 3.0 i bypassed the TB coolant caca. Took too long to remove the hoses everytime i wanted to remove the IM, so i bypassed it. No gains, just cuts down a good 5-7 minutes of labor in the removal for the future.

I had no different idle at all, I eliminated the whole cold idle cam crap as a matter of fact, never did I feel a difference. Had it like that for a good 2 yrs at least

95BLKMAX is right, i bypassed mine for simplicity's sake (and i hate the too-high cold idle) when doing the 00vi install. Jumpy idle is only from having the cold idle cam in place, once i looked with my good eye i realized that and took that stuff off and idle is rock-solid. Now I have to tap the gas on a cold start, oh noes...

In that case it should be in the General maxima discussion forum. This forum is for "advanced performance".

Well I agree that this has no reason to be in all motor forum but bypassing coolant is a waste besides if you do the 00vi.

you reconnect hoses to flow together instead of into the tb...

in the spaguetti of rubber and metal lines over the bellhousing, coming from the front. Find

A- the rubber hoses that attaches to another hard line that take coolant to the rear of the USIM

B- the rubber line that attaches to the bottom of the TB and returns coolant back down to the valley.

Pretty much, disconnect hose A (the feed) from where it hooks up to and loop it over to the hard line where hose B (the return) goes. Congrats, you just by-passed the TB coolant crap. You may now get rid of the coolant hoses related to the TB coolant stuff, AND the fast idle cam caca (since that stuff runs off coolant temp)

People who have not even looked at their thrtottle body shouldn't be posting in this thread... yet in this particular forum.

i see your point, but NMexMax is right. Coolant bypass is something that belongs to 4th gen forum. Not saying its not a valid question, just posted in the wrong forum. And seriously a coolant bypass for the TB doesnt take much brainstorming to figure out how to do, ESPECIALLY for the fact he's got the IMs out and can get a cler view at everything

I agree of the simplicity of the mod and the place it belongs but the guy had minor posts figures, he simply started a thread instead of searching throughout the 4th gen forum...

I'll tell you if you send me that kenwood cage.

You take the coolant line from behind the rear valve cover (it leads into the intake plenum) and you run that line up to where it hooks into the rigid line below the Throttle Body. If you have done it right it is not running thru your Plenum or your throttle body anymore. I did this on both of my fourth gens with no noticible negative effects. I did not do this for some sort of power gain but just so that it was easier to take my plenum and TB off when ever I wanted to.

It can belong in either 5th or 4th gen forum.

Look at the actual TB before you ask how to do this 'mod'. It's common sense, and it's not anyones fault you're on 180 minutes of sleep.
