CV joint Question

Ok. I know that my boots are torn on my CV joints. I went to a couple different repair shops and the cheapest that I found was $425.00. I don't want to pay that much. Since my boots are torn should I just go ahead and get new axles or can I repair the boots? It's making the clicking noise whnever I make a hard turn. Also, how hard would it be to do it myself, so that I don't have to pay that much.

Clicking = time for a change. If it wasnt clicking you could have changed the boot. They are easy to change yoruself. Hardest part is breaking the axle nut, but a long pole makes that much easier.

clicking sound is bad, u should but new axles. 425 is entirely too much to pay for repairing/replacing boots. When its clicking, its too late for that anyway.

clicking is definitely bad, pretty much as long as you don't hear that you can simply replace the boot. Personally for me I didn't juust replace the boot I ordered new axles from raxle and will be installing them this weekend. If you need a write up http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php cause the info you need, including just how to do boots since that's all he did.
