Whats Up,
Its about time for a tune up, I have had the Max 2 tears and I havent got one, theres no new weird behavior I kinda know Goldie needs it so I have the $, now just trying to get an average cost.

Tune up as in...? Do alot of it yourself and save big bucks!

The only thing you tune-up is change the spark plugs (NGK) and perhaps the air filter, fuel filter and PCV valve.

Everything else is inspections (steering, exhaust, CV boots etc) and routine maintenance.

I would focus on the fluids: radiator coolant, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, oil and filter.

Have you ever replaced either belt?

Tire rotation?

Clean throttle body, IACV, EGR intake and plenum if necessary.

Buy a Haynes manual.

I'd highly recommend doing it yourself. Most shops consider a tune up a simple spark plug change and charge a lot for it. The last time I got it done was at firestone with my old car and they charged me $70 for changing 4 spark plugs a couple years ago and slapping in $1 spark plugs. Buy the spark plugs yourself get the appropriate tools (torque wrench, 16mm or 5/8" spark plug socket, extension, u - joint) and read the stickies for the directions.

Heres what you should do, I did it all myself and saved a bunch. (this is if you want to cover ALL your bases)

Belts
Trans Fluid (if its an auto clean the magnets too)
Oil and filter
Power Steering fluid
Coolant with Distilled Water
Plugs
PCV
Rotate tires
Wash and wax (door jambs too)

I'm sure i forgot a thing or two, feel free to add

Also how many miles you got?

Seafoam(abottle, would help alot)=$6

Seafoam, plugs, oil, belts, trans & ps(drain/fill) rotate tires, fuel/air filter, pcv. About $100in NC. DIY+2 hours=PRICELESS!!!!!

how do u guys use seafoam? in the gas tank or somewhere else.

The most beneficial application is to suck it up through the brake booster hose in order to clean out the intake manifold, after letting the car sit for 15 minutes (1/3 can). Some people use it in their crankcase.

There are better products to use for the crankcase and fuel system.

Crankcase - AutoRX, LubeControl LC20

Fuel system - LubeControl FP60, BG44K, Gumout Regane, Chevron Techron

There is also Valvoline Synthetic Oil Treatment for extending the life of an oil change and improving fuel economy. Obviously the requirement is to use it with synthetic oil, rather than dino oil.
