I am under the impression that anything "aftermarket" (walker, bosal, etc) - "OEM fit" or not - will not last more than a couple years (in Chicago winters with salted roads, that is). whereas the actual Nissan part will last much longer (albeit at >2X the price). I'd love to hear other's opinions on this, as I am in the market for a new muffler. The original one lasted 7 years, which is much longer than any aftermarket POS I've had on past cars.
so - what has been your experience with aftermarket mufflers?
to the OP -- your best bet is probably Gerrand's nissan. price is about $200 (IRC), and they will ship it free. but hey, maybe other's will chime in with good aftermarket alternatives that will last just as long.

Thanks for the input guys, I was thinking about midas, but I guess that's a no go...but $200 for OEM NISSAN, that just makes me wanna buy a performance one. I know this has been asked a million times but I'm guessing there is no such thing as a "quiet" performance muffler?

If you want stock-quiet, nothing beats oem.
Last year when my oem cat-back exhaust rusted out, I wanted SS but coudlnt afford it at the time, so I bought an "oem replacement" b-pipe and muffler. It fits and works great....no fitment issues at all. The quality of the welds isnt as good as the Nissan one, but I'll get a few years out of it....and it only cost me $230 for both. I did paint them a high-temp flat black to further resist corrosion...besides, the muffler looks cool black.
all the exust does (for our maxima's, ie other cars varie) is change the sound/tone etc of the exuast. so aftermarket "performance" muffler is just a whole lot of hoopla that is marketing term.
you want something to last, something stainless steel in wet and cold states. but dont belive in any lies about one muffler being better than annother, unless you have forced induction, which then the rules bend.
unless you have spacific benchmarks that prove otherwise, from someone reputable, who didnt test with differnt b-pipes etc. there is mabe 1 or 2 hp differnce in mufflers, nothing worth paying more money for. quality and sound are what you would want when looking for a muffler.
