I'm looking at buying a 97-98 Maxima. I found a 98 SE 5spd with 76000 miles, leather seats, and a sunroof. The price on it was 16,000 but I could probably get it for around 14,000. Is this a good deal. The car is clean with one small scratch in the paint. Thanks for your help.

 

anywhere from 13 - 15 is pretty good..

 

that doesnt sound like a bad price... but i'd go for 12-13... just point out that the mileage is high blah blah...
my'97 GXE 5spd came for 10Gs... with 40K miles...
but well see how it is... a 5spd is worth an extra thousand or so...

but that car he described is full loaded SE so they try to hike the price up too

haha the 5spd is worth an extra 1000 to meeee!!! for the sheer driving enjoyment and the joy of shifting for an hour in stop and go traffic
yea dealers will really jack up the price for loaded models... in my area they even quote 17-18s for fully loaded SEs...
just bargain them down.. yea a 13-15 is a good range

 

I bought my 97 SE 5speed last july for 16200, and it had 40k on it. They were asking 18 but you can talk em way down. Id say go for it

Thanks for your input. It turns out the salesman was wrong and it was marked at $17,900. I got them down to $15,300 with 4 new tires but didn't want to pay that much. I told them I can get a 97 with half the miles for cheaper than that and I left. I guess I'll keep looking.

yeah i got my 97 5 speed SE in Sep of 2000 for 15,000 and it had 50,000 miles
