ummmm, 4.5X114.3? 4.5 IS 114.3
4.5 inches = 114.3mm
what you meant was 5x114.3, which is your bolt pattern and has nothing to do with offset

right... for you to pull that of, it'll probebly take major Customiztation, but money does anyhing IMO but i dont think it'll be worth it to do all that, but i could be wrong cause this to me would be a first.

I've seen members with 9" rears, and that is really stuffed. Looks cool from the rear, but it's a front wheel drive car. What advantage (if any) is gained by using such a wide tire in the rear?
I believe that with the 9" rim, the fenders in the rear were rolled. I don't recall the offset of the rim or what the tire size was.

ur prob asking for trouble since you would need a bigger tire in width....meaning ur gonna have to go smaller in height = bent rims...meaning....no, dont do it...u can get 18X10....but prob for another car..

less rubber in the sidewall = more risk of having a bent rim. Up here to repair rims starting cost is 75/hr. Minimum 2 hr/rim. The roads are pretty crappy and with the amount of swerving I do to avoid potholes, I'm surprised that the cops haven't pulled me over thinking that I'm impared and I'm running 225/40/18 on an 8" rim.

i thought so...just a theory i had in mind cuz i wanted to do a 20x10 but i know that's beyond crazy...so i figured i'd ask about 18's. Here's what I'm thinking..18x7.5 in the front and 18x9 in the rear...kinda like a staggered look..my friend is the GM at a rim store and he told me the offset has to be between +35 and +42 and that he could probably pull it off for me...wanted the opinion of some experienced max owners though before i fork over the cash. 18's sounded safer than 19's...cuz that's what i had in mind since i can't do the staggered look with 20's

another question...with this proposed staggered 18" look i'm going for...would it be logical to drop the car...and if soo...how much and what's a good brand to go with i don't want a bouncy ride...it's stock height cuz of the 20's i had on there..and i have the R33 kit

just be careful with doing 2 different diameters on the rims. Some companies will have a 1.5 inch lip on the 18" size and then for the 19" they do a 3 inch lip.
I don't know if your planning on purchasing rims with a lip or not, but be aware. Also, tires are way more expensive for the 19" than 18". I would just purchase the same 4 rims all the way around.
drop... yup.
it's up to you really. Search here. There are many different pictures with the available drops. that thread will be your friend when deciding.

there is no functionality to a max(fwd) with wider wheels on the back...by the way. Also you will never be able to rotate..the tires wont last long not to mention if your alignment is off..Its a waste of money

OK I have seen 18x10 volk rims on a 01 max with a nice drop on it. Chris's max had them on his car. I have staggered 19x8.5 (f)/9.5 (r). The offsets are 40(f)/44(r). The fender would be better rolled. And I'm on S-tech springs so it like somewhere between and 1.5-2" drop. And I have the "M" kit.
Everyone is right there is not functionality or benefits by having wider wheels in the back. I agree with that. And the fact that you won't be able to rotate. But if you are about the look.....it looks good. Just make sure that you keep the car aligned and you get good tires if you go that route.

I like the 19" look..being that I owned a set...ACEEMaxima: how hard was ir to find ur wheel size and about how much did u spend for those specs..i might go with ur setup but with different wheels..maybe even 18's cuz tire's are expensive for 19's (experience talking) i got lifetime realignment on my car and the tires i'm getting will be either hankook's or nitto's..havent decided yet..i'm going strictly looks on my max with a little bite just enough to defend itself on the street..that's why I want the staggered look...for the look more than anything. btw..thanks everyone for the input..greatly appreciated
