Bondo or not to bondo HELP!

Hey guys, just picked up a car and im changing out the carpet. After ripping it out I realized on the floor around the drivers seat rail, the floor is rusting out and there is a 3X2 inch hole. I was thinking about bondo-ing the hell out of it to fill it in. Would tha work? Or do I have to go with another method?

Would be best to cut and weld a new piece in there if there is already a hole rusted through.

You'll need to weld, not bondo. You don't need your seat moving or being detached from the floor in the event of an accident.

Dunno where in NY you are, but if you can find one of those places that sell and repair trailers (horse, utility etc) they should be able to do it for you.

Bondo wouldnt do anything. All it would do is cover up the hole some, but it has no strength and would still be as bad as if you didnt bondo it.

in the event of an accident, you'll be extremely thankful you did
