Why is my steering so sloppy/loose???

over-inflated tires wont make for a wobbly feeling, just a stiffer ride. Are the rims on tight?
Also, you're riding on stock suspension you say... thats about as sloppy of a suspension as there can be, lol. Ok seriously though, get under the car (which should be really easy on 4x4 suspension.... there are times I wish I had it because of just that) and take a look at those bushings. I just did an entire convertion of my front end from the stock rubber crap (which everything on the passenger side was eaten up by a p/s fluid leak) to Energy Suspension Urethane bushings.... sway bar braket bushings, control am bushings, sway bar end links, x-member bushings (already had the urethane motor mounts). It really is a night and day difference. Like camry vs. accord difference in steering response.

i had the same sloppy steering issue... my ball joints and tie rod ends were shot... replaced those and also replaced swaybar and control arm bushings, then got an alignment... car is solid now
