Rear window spoiler... Painted or leave it?

Everyone put in a vote. If you have a picture post it up too. I just got mine and don't know if I feel like having it painted or just leaving it like it is.

My car is dark blue if that changes anything.

i wouldnt think of it being "ricer" to want to keep it black. It could be a good look on the car. Similar to how some keep the stillen lip black on their white car, its not ricer, it just looks good.

I got mine from Ionicmax on here. Try to get in touch with him. There was a group deal for $75 shipped, but I think it is over. He probably still has some at regular price though.

Well from the looks of the pics on http://www.ionicdynamics.com/4thgenCFroofwing.html it looks like it's double sided tape for the mounting.

That being the case, mounting it as is then deciding you wanted it painted would make things more difficult if you wanted to paint the underside as well. But I don't think the underside of the thing is that important unless you're showing it.

I'd mount it as is, if you decide to paint it body color later that's doable. But if you paint it first then decide you want the black cf look it would be harder to go backwards I would think.

Yup it mounts with double sided tape. That isn't too bad of an idea actually to mount it see if I like it then paint it later. It basically will just rip off with some force. The underside is fiberglass so there isn't much point in painting it especially since it really won't be seen at all.

what color is your car? If it is a light color or black leave it if it is one or the green colors paint it.

if you have a front lip that's unpainted then I say yeah, leave it but if everything else is painted then you have to stay true to the form of your car...otherwise it will look "off"

I am gonna mount it temporarily today to see if I like it. I did it very half *** yesterday and actually didn't even like the spoiler at all so we will see. If I just plain don't like it black I won't even paint it, I will probably just sell it.

^^^

Well, your car being as dark as it is with the dark window tint doesn't make it look too bad imho. But I'll be honest and say I don't really care for the overall look with it on there. Your car looks sweet as is, and I couldn't tell if you had a spoiler or not, but if not then I'll like it even less. I don't think it flows well with the rest of the car. It's like you have this great looking car, but just added one too many things.

My .02 again.

The blue isn't really that dark. It changes a little. It really depends on the lighting. Some days it looks a lot lighter then this.... Here are a couple more quick picks with my sisters camera I don't know how to use it all so the pictures suck and I couldn't hold it steady for some reason. For the most part the color is like the first picture here.

i think its way to bulky ie, sticks out to much. i wish they were more like the shape of the bmw ones or the mercedes. even the ionic short or so called half one looks funny to me.

Yeah I'm not really feeling it myself. It looks better in person than in the pics but it doesn't do anything for me. I am gonna keep it off for now. If anyone is interested in buying it PM me I will give a pretty good deal on it.

Well a lot of people have them. The half size look good. It is people like you that have no idea what they are talking about that ruin this site.

My rain guards are weather tech. When I was looking for some they were the only ones that didn't stick on. Instead they actually sit inside the window curves so you just snap them in and that is it.
