Front Brakes pads and rotors. Should Replace or Repack Wheel Bearings
Doing the Front brakes on my 1999 maxima . Brembo rotors/akebono pro-act pads. The car has 44,000 shoild I deal with the wheel bearings or not. Seems like the time to do it. With spring arriving I am sure alot of brakes getting changed. Also any thing to do to prevent rusted rotors. Live in New england and the other rotors are rusted out. thanks

Your wheel bearings should be fine. I didn't have to change one of the front ones til I had almost 200k miles on it.
The more expensive rotors will have a zinc coating on them to prevent rust on the center area. The coating will get worn off of the area where the pads touch it so there's no preventing it from rusting there, aside from constant driving.
The cheaper rotors from a local autoparts store won't have this coating and quickly develop surface rust. Doesn't really affect performance though.

yea brakes and wheel bearings are 2 diffrent things on maxima. unlike other cars where they are together as one and you have to repack to do brakes these are not the same types. Do you brakes and wait for the bearings go give.
