I'm curious. How much is insurance for your Max? I have a perfect record, no tickets or accidents, good student discount, ABS. But I'm 19. So my insurance co was going to charge $2000 per year. We put my dad as primary driver on my Max, and it's only like $250 for him (or maybe 500 per year, I forget if that's doubled). We put me on our 83 Ford Crown Vic, and I'm $800 per year. So anyway, I was wondering if that's all normal or cheap or outrageous. How much is your insurance per year, and if you have any accidents or tickets how much did those raise it? Thanks.

$1356 every six months at 18 years old and a perfectly clean record with good student. My insurance company is really bending me over, but there is nothing I can do because my parents pay almost nothing because of their flawless records. They would lose that benefit if they switched companies.

try esurance.com

You won't regret it. Other places were quoting me $1500+ for 6 months.
(I am 21 year old, with good record)
Esurance.com was $488 full coverage.

I pay $1580 every year. Farmers, 19 year old male, clean record, $500 deduct, good student discount, multiple car discount and multiple policy discount(cars and house insurance with them). $2000 per year doesnt seem too bad but I think you could do better. Look around for another company.

I was paying $7200 a year in 99 when i bought my max. I had 14 points at the time and was high risk. I'm now paying a more resonable $3400 a year, no longer high risk, only 8 points left to get rid of, and 23 years old. I bought the car before getting insurance quote. I'll never do that again.

I'm paying $650/yr liability only.
$1350/yr when I renew my policy w/ full coverage end of this yr.
I've been driving for about 4.5 yrs. 24 y/o female. No points, no accidents on record.
BTW- I also got a quote for a possible secondary car... 2001 BMW 325xi, it'll cost me $1780/yr full coverage.
Progressive, State Farm, Geico does not insure NJ drivers... comes with the territory.

Shaking my head.

Wow! You folks pay a ton. I have mine for $84/month full coverage with a 1million dollar umbrella and a $250 deductible. I work for an insurance company as some of you know. Esurance is crap. Hate to be blunt, but it is. That place has cheap premiums b/c you get lower limits, crappy claim service and no respect from other companies when you decide to upgrade to another company in the future....married, house..etc. They are nothing more than cutrate insurance. Trust me...you will regret it!

Shumax...you didn't mention who your insurance company is. Can you get me a good deal? I'm 24, perfect driving record (except for the 1.3 million parking tickets I have received), and I pay $810 / 6 months (max coverage with $250 deductible) with Geico Insurance (yeah, I know...). Somehow I have been out of school for 2 years yet I still get the good student discount. I must have forgot to mention that to them. Have people received major discounts once they turn 25 years old, or is that a rumor?

I'm 22 and I pay about $1500 a year, FULL coverage with a $500 Deductible. No wrecks yet, (knock on wood) no tickets, and driving fine! State Farm has a pretty good policy.

Maybe I will regret esurance.

One funny thing. I am getting full coverage from them, but they didn't ask me for a photo of my car. What's to stop someone from Esuring a wreck?
Actually, I don't care for the quality of the insurance much. Mainly I just want to be legit. Of course I would rather have a good insurance company. But they are quoting me some ridiculous numbers. $4K/year. You wish. I paid $10K for my car. I will take my chances with esurance to save $3K/year. Besides, it's only 6 months, and then I can get another insurance if esurance folds.

That is an excellent deal. Full coverage or just liability? Dang, that is almost as good of a deal as mine is. Then again, I am older...and perhaps a little wiser.

My company.

I work for a company that sells actively in only 19 states;
"The Westfield Group" formerly Westfield Companies. We are based out of Westfield,Ohio (south of Cleveland about 40miles) and have been in business for over 150 years and have an "A" rating with A.M. Best. We don't operate direct; we work through independednt agents and have done that, successfully for 150+ years. We don't write in New Jersey as they have some of the highest rates and problems of any state in the US. We are in KY, Ohio, Tenn., GA, FL, Penn., Ill, In, Wisc, Mich., Ia, North and South Dakota, West Virginia, Minnesota and a few others.

I don't have my insurace with my company for a few reasons though. Laugh at me...go ahead, but I am waiting till I get married in the spring to put my house and our two cars on then. I want to get a package deal and get started off right. Not to mention that by then my one and only ticket (lets hope) will come off by then. I am currently with Progressive's premier club. Meaning I am not part of the substandard group who gets bad rates and decent coverage. Also, when I go to my company in the spring they will look at the premier club as being on the same level as what they are. Another thing to consider is your credit report. Insurance companies are using this more and more as a predictor of your financial strength and integrity. Someone, somehow has traced a link to the way you pay your bills and the way you act on the raod--responsibility. Insurance companies still use MVR's and the like. However, credit reports weigh as much, if not more, than the MVR's now.

ANy other questions, please email me.

$660 per year, safe driver. Just signed on with them. Had Nationwide previously who wanted about $740 per year. When I got the car at age 25, insurance was around $1200/yr.

Oh here we go guys, you guys with all clean records.

I pay around $1,600 every six months for insurance on 97 Maxima SE, full coverage, $500 deductible. I have had 4 speeding tickets, one excessive that is, (20 or over), one passing in no passing zone ticket, one not coming to a complete stop ticket, one accident, (it was really all the girls fault, but cop said 50-50). That was in my 1990 Subaru Legacy which was faster than ****, got that puppy up to 126 on highway. I loved that car, but not as much as I love my max. So this should make you guys feel better about your insurance.
